Educational Qualification:

1. Soldier Technical - 10+2/Intermediate Examination pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject.

2. Soldier Technical (Avn/Amn Examiner) - 10+2/intermediate Exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Maths and English with 50o/o marks in aggregate and 40% marks in each subject OR three years Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Automobile / Computer Science/ Electronic & Instrumentation .,,.1 Engineering) from a recognized Polytechnic Institute/ITI.

3. Soldier Nursing Assistant - 10+2/Intermediate pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with 40% marks in compulsory subject and 50% marks in aggregate OR B.Sc Degree (Botany/Zoology/ Bio Science) and English (simple pass). Stipulation of marks laid down at 10+2 level will not be applicable for B.Sc degree. However the candidate should have studied all the four special subjects in class 12th also.

4. Soldier General ‘Duty - 10th Pass with min 33% in each subject/ C2 Grade or 4.75 Points in Grade System and 45% marks in aggregate except additional subject 10 +2 simple pass in all subject. Stipulated marks percentage will be waived off for 10 +2 and higher education qualification. 33% or above marks or Dl grade scored in Second language for l0th pass candidates.

5. Soldier Clerk/ Soldier Store Keeper Technical - Should have secured 50% marks in each subject and 50% marks in aggregate in class XII. (ii) Should have studied English and Math/Accts/Book Keeping in Class XII or class X and should have secured minimum 50% marks in each of these subjects, whether studied in Class XII or X.

6. Soldier Tradesman - 10th pass within 33% in each Subject/C2 Grade OR 4.75 Points in Grade System and 45% Marks in Aggregate expect additional Subject 10+ 2 Simple Pass in all subject 8th Pass For House Keeper, Mess Keeper, & Syce, 10th Class Pass For Chef, Washerman, Dresser, Steward, Tailor, Artisan (Wood Work), Artisan (Metallurgy), Support Staff (ER), Artisan (Construction) and all other trades 10th simple pass/ITI qualification in respective trades. Only candidates who have undertaken class X Board Exam would be considered.

Pay Scale: After enrolment a soldier is entitled to get approx. Rs 30,000/- per month as per Seventh pay commission and allowances as admissible along with other facilities such as free ration/ ration money, clothing, medical for self and accommodation, Railway warrant for self and dependents, Group Housing Scheme, Army Group Insurance Scheme of Rs 25,OO,0O0/-. The other privileges are fully paid Annual Leave up to a maximum of 60 days, Casual Leave up to a maximum of 30 days, Medical Leave as recommended by Medical authorities and Leave Encashment up to 30 days in a calendar year and maximum 300 days in service.

Selection Procedure for Indian Army Soldier Nursing Assistant, Soldier General Duty, Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical:
Candidates will be selected based on Written Exam, Physical Fitness Test (PMT), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and Medical Test

Physical Fitness Test (PFT):
1.6 KM Run For all Categories
For GP - I: Less than 5 min 30 Secs
For GP - II: From 5 min 31 Secs to 5 min 45 Secs
Physical Measurement Test (PMT). As per eligibility requirement of category given at Paragraph (Eligibility Conditions)
Medical. The Medical Examination will be carried out on dates given by Medical Team. 

Candidates to check for date of Medical Examination at rally site. Candidates referred to MH at rally site will report to concerned specialist at MH Chennai / CH (AF) Bangalore along with 03 x latest passport size photograph. Candidate will ensure that review medical is carried out on the dates given to them.
Common Entrance Examination. All the candidates who have been declared fit at rally site in the Medical Examination and those declared fiedibal fit from MH Chennai/ CH (AF) Bangalore will undergo a Common Entrance Examination conducted by Recruitment Office (HQ), Chennai. The location and date of CEE will be informed on the spot/ will be intimated later

i) At least a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.

Educational Qualification:

1. A/C Refrigeration Mechanic - Passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognized by the Government and National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.

2. Brass Finisher - Brass Finisher is not a designated trade under the Apprenticeship Act .The candidate who have worked in MDL/Shipbuilding industry as a Brass Finisher but have undergone apprenticeship training in any trade can apply for the post of Brass Finisher directly. However, the experience certificate should be certified by their Personnel Dept. Candidate who have passed ‘NAC’ in the trade of “Machinist” without Shipbuilding experience can apply for the post of “Trainee Brass Finisher”.

3. Carpenter - Passed VIII std and the National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Carpenter”.

4. Composite Welder - Passed VIII std and the National Apprenticeship Certificate examination passed in the trade of “Welder / Welder (G&E)”.

5. Draughtsman (M) - Must have passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognized by the Govt. and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination in the Trade of ‘Draughtsman’ in Mechanical Stream conducted by NCVT of the Directorate General of Employment & Training, Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India.

6. Driver - SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognized by Govt. or passed Indian Army class-I examination in the Navy or Air Force. Should have valid Driving License issued by RTO without break/adverse remarks. Heavy duty motor vehicle driving license preferable.

7. Electric Crane Operator - Passed SSC & the National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in Electrician trade and having one year experience in MDL/ Ship-building industry as Electric Crane Operator may apply for the post of Electric Crane Operator directly. However, the experience certificate should be certified by their Personnel Dept. In case of non-availability of candidates with above required qualifications, candidates who have passed NAC in Electrician trade may be considered as “Trainee Electric Crane Operator” subject to suitability.

8. Electricians - Passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognized by the Government and the National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Electrician”.

9. Electronics Mechanic - Passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognized by the Government and National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Electronic Mechanic”.

10. Fitter - Passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognised by the Government and must have passed the “National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination” in the trade of “Fitter”. The candidate who have worked in MDL/Shipbuilding industry as a Fitter for minimum one year but undergone Apprentice Training in any other trade can apply for the post of Fitter directly.

Structural Fabricator -  Passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognised by the Government and National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in the trade of “Structural Fitter / Fabricator” or Passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognised by the Government and National Apprenticeship Certificate Examination passed in any other trade and having one year experience in MDL/Ship-building industry as a Structural Fitter may apply for the Post of Structural Fitter directly. However, the experience certificate should be certified by their Personnel Dept.. The candidate having National Apprenticeship Certificate examination passed in “Sheet Metal Worker” trade will be considered for “Trainee Structural Fabricator”

22. NDT Inspector - Must have passed SSC with full time three years Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. In addition to this it is essential to have ISNT/ASNT Level II certification in Radiography interpretation, Ultrasonic Testing ,Magnetic particle testing and Dye penetrate testing.

23. Engine Driver/2nd Class Engine Driver - Certificate of competency (Engine Driver 2nd Class) issued by Maharashtra Maritime Board/Mercantile Marine Dept. as per Indian Vessel Act. Knowledge of Swimming is compulsory.

24. Launch Deck Crew (Laskar) - Passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognised by the Government. General Purpose(GP) rating course with one year experience as Crew on board Tug/Launch/Vessel of 226 BHP or above. GP rating certificate issued by DG shipping approved institutes will be considered. Knowledge of Swimming is Compulsory. OR Non GP rating with 3 year experience as Crew on board Tug/Launch/Vessel of 226 BHP or above. Knowledge of Swimming is Compulsory.

25. Security Sepoy - Must have passed SSC or equivalent examination conducted by a Board recognized by Govt. Or passed Indian Army class – I examination or equivalent examination in the Navy or Air Force and has put in at least 15 years of service in the Armed Forces of the Union and is otherwise considered fit to hold the post in view of his experience and other qualifications. Candidates conversant with Security Duties and holding valid commercial driving license will be preferred.

26. Chipper Grinder - Chipper Grinder trade is not a designated trade under Apprenticeship Act. Candidates who have passed SSC and NAC in any trade and have worked in Shipbuilding industry as Chipper Grinder for minimum period of one year may apply for the said post directly. However, the experience certificate should be certified by the Personnel Dept. In case of non-availability of candidates as Chipper Grinder, the candidates having passed SSC with NAC examination conducted by NCVT in the trade of Machinist / Machinist (Grinder) / Turner may apply for the post of “Trainee Chipper Grinder”.

27. Fire fighter - Candidates must have passed SSC or equivalent with Diploma / Certificate in Fire Fighting of minimum six months duration from a Govt. recognised institute. Candidates must posses a valid Heavy Duty Vehicle Licence.

28. Utility Hand (Semi Skilled) - Utility Hand is not a designated trade under the Apprenticeship Act. Candidates who have passed SSC with NAC in any trade and have worked in Shipbuilding industry as Utility Hand for minimum period of one year may apply for the said post. However, the experience certificate should be certified by their Personnel Dept.

29. Sail Maker (Tailor) - Candidates must have passed VIII std and the ITI in the trade of “Cutting & Tailoring/Cutting & Sewing”.

Age Limit:
